For professionals in Nigeria

A practical guide for Nigerian professionals to expert work at frontier AI labs. Nigeria has one of the deepest pools of educated English-speaking specialists in Africa and one of the largest awareness gaps around this work.

Nigeria has one of the largest populations of educated, English-fluent, credentialed professionals in Africa. It also has one of the largest awareness gaps around remote expert work at frontier AI labs. The frontier has been contracting expertise, in medicine, law, engineering, mathematics, and research, from Western markets primarily. The obvious question is why not Nigeria. There is no good answer. This guide starts closing that gap.

What this is, plainly

Frontier AI labs pay domain experts to review, correct, and improve their models' reasoning in specific fields. The work is remote. The pay is in USD. For Nigerian professionals, the rate typically compares against Western scales, which makes the gap against local salaries in the same field very significant.

Remotebridge is a discovery service. Free for candidates. We surface open roles at frontier labs, match them to your resume, and route you through with a tracked referral link if you decide to apply.

Access is not the problem

  • Internet. Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, and most major cities have connections that meet the requirement. Fiber options have expanded quickly. A stable connection is what matters.
  • Payment. Wise, Payoneer, and direct USD accounts (with domiciliary accounts at Nigerian banks) all work. USD lands and can be converted to NGN at market rates through the standard channels. Tax obligations are the individual's; consult an accountant for the freelance category.
  • Time zone. The work is asynchronous. Time-zone alignment is not required.
  • Equipment. A laptop and a broadband connection.

What labs actually look for

They look for dense, current expertise in a specific field. Recent clinical practice. Recent legal work in Nigerian or ECOWAS practice. Active research or teaching. Verifiable engineering work.

Written English at the professional standard is expected. That is rarely a bottleneck for Nigerian professionals.

They do not look for AI experience. Nearly no expert hired for this work has ever trained a model.
